Line Rider

I guess I'm about a year behind this news, but recently introduced to a new time waster. Thanks Kramer!

What is Line Rider? It's a pretty cool physics engine project proposed by a student that has taken off. Here's a better blurb.

Line Rider was originally created by Boštjan Cadež, a Slovenian university student, in September of 2006. It almost immediately gathered a cult following and became the seventh quickest gaining keyword in Google. Since that time, the ‘toy’ has generated over 16 million views. Fans quickly noticed that they could create tracks, set them to music, and share them over YouTube.com. Currently, there are over 11,000 shared videos with many more to come. inXile Entertainment is extremely excited to work with Boštjan in order to reach the full potential that we feel the Line Rider application can live up to. Keep an eye on this site for more information from Line Rider.

Needless to say this kept me busy over the weekend. Here's our first serious effort:

Sorry about the Chicken in My Head soundtrack, but I needed to mask the stupid conversation in the background. Next time I will use Fraps or something to make the mpg. We also gave up at the end.

But to see what this really can do, here's a much better example.

Quick tips:
- Press space to move the map
- Press D to move the start location
- Make good use of the magnifying tool
- Use the line tool as much as possible. Don't free hand.
